Your Mayor, Councillor Preety Hudd

Councillor Preety Hudd was elected as Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea for 2023-24 at the Annual Council Meeting on Wednesday 24 May.

Preety was elected as a Councillor to represent Campden ward in May 2022. Preety has lived in the borough (in Pembridge and Campden wards) for the last 35 years.

Since her election, Preety has been Vice-Chair of the Family Services Select Committee and a member of the Investment Committee, the Licensing Committee, and the Working Budget Group.

Preety has worked in finance and retired following the birth of her second child in 2002. Her community service includes volunteering at St Mary Abbots Hospice, Holland Park School and Fox Primary School. She is married with two adult children.

Preety has chosen the Felix Project as her Mayoral Charity.

Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea, Cllr Preety Hudd said:

It is a great honour and privilege to have been elected Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea. I look forward to working with the community during my year in office.

I am delighted to be partnering with The Felix Project, a food distribution charity collecting surplus food and delivering it to those in need in the borough and across London.

Preety has appointed Cllr Dori Schmetterling as her Deputy Mayor, who has represented Pembridge ward since 2018. The Mayoral Chaplain is Mother Emma Dinwiddy Smith, Parish Vicar of St Mary Abbots Church.
