Road closures and parking restrictions
To help keep people safe during Carnival, we are putting road closures and parking restrictions in place across the area.
Additional restrictions may be introduced closer to Carnival, so please check this page for updates.
Road closures
Most roads within the Carnival area will be closed from 6am on Sunday 30 August until 6am on Tuesday 1 September, or until it is safe to reopen them.
Parking restrictions
Most restrictions will be in place from 11.59pm on Saturday 29 August until 6am on Tuesday 1 September.
Vehicle access
During road closure periods, only pre-authorised Carnival vehicles and emergency services will be allowed into the Carnival area.
All other vehicles will be refused access.
If you live within the Carnival area and need to use your vehicle during Carnival, you should move it out of the area before restrictions begin on Saturday 29 August.
Before travelling, check for any additional restrictions on roads near your home, as these may affect your route out of the area.
Please leave it as late as possible before driving vehicles back into the area.
