About the service

Solace offers 2 courses:

  • Course 1. Understanding Refugee and Asylum Seeker Mental Health
  • Course 2. Effective Therapeutic Support for Asylum Seekers

These courses will help you understand how to support the mental health and wellbeing of those who have been displaced from their country of origin. The courses have tutorial videos and review pages. There is no test, but you can reflect on what you learned.

The courses are made up of tutorial videos between 10 to 30 minutes long. The pages that follow offer review, reference and revision of that video content.

There is no test to complete, but several places to reflect on what you have learnt, what you will change, and what you will share with others in your organisation.

Housing Solutions Team

About the service

The Council can assist if you are homeless or worried about becoming homeless. Please get in touch as soon as you can in order to give our dedicated teams more time to help you.

How to access the service

If you are worried about becoming homeless you should contact the Housing Solutions Team as soon as possible. In the first instance please telephone or email. Find contact details below.

The team will contact you within two working days to assess your circumstances so they can refer you to the most appropriate team for help.

If your situation is urgent they recommend you contact immediately and someone from the Housing and Homelessness Assessment Team will get in touch within 24hrs.

You can also visit the Customer Service Centre Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.

Carers Network

About the service

Carers Network is an independent local charity. The Network's vision is that every unpaid carer is recognised and leads a healthy, fulfilling life with control over their caring role.

Their work reaches over 7,000 unpaid carers in the most isolated and deprived pockets of the City of Westminster, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

If you are an adult unpaid carer looking after someone over 18 who lives in Kensington and Chelsea, you can register for support by completing their online form.

If you are a professional, you can refer carers you are working with to Carers Network by completing their online form.

National Gambling Clinic

About the service

National Gambling Clinic is a free, confidential NHS service supporting people who are experiencing harm from gambling aged 13 to 18 years from anywhere in England, and 18 or over in London and the South East.

National Gambling Clinic team assesses the needs of people for whom gambling has been a problem as well as those of their partners, family members and significant others.

Please note they support those suffering from gambling harm and cannot offer crisis interventions. The team can work jointly with mental health teams, aiming to provide a comprehensive package of care in collaboration with other professionals. In the event of a crisis the clinic would suggest you contact your GP, community mental health team, A&E or the Police.

Marylebone Centre

About the service

Female rough sleepers drop-in at the Marylebone Centre is open 24/7. Services which can be accessed include the following:

  • shelter, laundry, showers, clothing and food for rough sleepers.
  • general and Housing advice
  • weekly nurse drop-ins
  • activities

The Marylebone Project offers 112 long and short-term beds (including emergency beds for women in immediate need) providing around 40,000 nights of safe and secure accommodation each year.

How to access the service

The service is open to all female rough sleepers, including non-residents. Call the service to make an appointment. Women that don’t have an appointment are still able to collect a food bag.

Marylebone Centre is located in Westminster on 1-5 Cosway Street

You can contact the centre between Monday and Friday between 11am and 7pm.
Services such as shelter, laundry, showers, clothing are open Tuesday and Thursday between 10am and 12pm.

Community Eating Disorders Service

About the service

Community Eating Disorders Service for children and young people offers help and support to children and young people aged 17 and under living in Central and North London who have a suspected or confirmed eating disorder diagnosis. This includes children and young people who are seeking advice, consultation and support.

  • psychological therapists

The service offers assessment, diagnosis and intervention on a range of suspected and confirmed eating disorders including:

  • Anorexia nervosa

Cycle Connect

About the service

Cycle Connect is a free door to door, side-by-side, cycle service allowing up to three passengers to enjoy gentle exercise and fresh air while carrying out journeys in their neighbourhood. Cycle Connect is currently only operating in west London and is for residents of Kensington & Chelsea.

There is space for three passengers, so bring your friends, family or carer. You have the option to assist with pedalling if you’d like, although it’s not necessary since the bicycle is electrically assisted. Note, due to size restrictions the cycle connect is for adults only.

Cycle Connect operates on most weekdays, between 9.30am and 4pm, with increased availability in the spring and summer months.

You can book a slot for 1.5 hours and the service friendly local pilot will collect you and take you wherever you would like to go in the local area during that time. It might be you would just like to go for a leisure ride, which is absolutely fine too.
