Home-Start works with families in communities. Starting in the home, their approach is as individual as the people they are helping. No judgement, it is just compassionate, confidential help and expert support.

You can refer yourself or a family to the service by completing the form for your preferred service.

Lattef Project

About the service

Lattef Project provides Muslims, people of faith, and people of minoritised communities opportunities to use faith-based counselling, Islamic counselling to live more resourcefully.

If you are eligible, Lateef Project can provide up to 18 sessions, each 50 minutes long, of free multi-lingual faith-based counselling to adults who are looking to address specific issues with their mental health.

They can provide professional counselling services in English, Turkish, Bangla, Sylheti, Urdu, and Punjabi.

About the service

KeshetUK is an education and training charity with a mission to ensure that Jewish LGBT+ people and their families are included throughout Jewish life in the UK.

KeshetUK offers a range of activities:

  • delivery of culturally sensitive LGBT+ inclusion training
  • development and delivery of educational content in schools and wider Jewish community settings
  • teacher training and ongoing support
  • youth leadership training
  • support for LGBT+ inclusion organisational audits
  • bespoke advice for organisations with difficult situations
  • meeting with individuals such as rabbi, teachers, staff at Jewish organisations - in confidence where necessary - to increase their understanding of what including Jewish LGBT+ people and their families could look like.

About the service

Gendered Intelligence is a trans-led and trans-involving charity that works to increase understandings of gender diversity and improve the lives of trans people.

Gendered Intelligence delivers a range of direct services, projects and activities to trans, non-binary, and gender questioning people, as well as a range of education, training and consultancy to organisations and individuals who are working to better their inclusive practices. They also engage with public policy and seek to influence legislation, the media, policy and research at a national level.

About the service

FFLAG is a national voluntary organisation and registered charity. They are dedicated to supporting parents and families and their LGBT+ members.

FFLAG offers support to local parents groups and contacts in their efforts to help parents and families understand, accept and support their lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender members with love and pride. FFLAG volunteers are parents of lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans children supported by other volunteers.

These young people and their families face serious homophobia and transphobia in our society, which brings in its wake prejudice, bullying and alienation.

FFLAG provides a central point for exchange of information between parents groups and local parent contacts through online and post publications.

dsdteens is an online resource where you can learn about growing up and differences of sex development (DSD). The resource provides information based on evidence and science, sound advice, and personal stories. The online resource is to make DSD conditions easy to understand and more easy to talk about.

They are usually called disorders of sex development or intersex variations. The site is made by and for young people with DSD. dsdteens teamed-up with expert doctors from around the world to give you up-to-date information on DSD, puberty, growing up, and your life.
