Resident parking permits

Processing your resident permit application: useful information

Applications for new parking permits can take up to two working days to process, or up to 10 working days for renewals. If you have applied online, you will receive confirmation by email which contains your unique case ID.

Once your permit application is approved or rejected, you will be notified through your chosen method of communication.

Provisional permits

A provisional permit allows you to park in resident parking bays within the borough while your application is processed. You will receive a provisional permit if you:

  • have submitted your renewal and your payment has been authorised, but your permit has expired
  • need to submit additional evidence

Issues with application

If we identify a fraudulent application, such as if you are not a resident of the borough, we reserve the right to reject the application and keep your payment.

Missing documents

If we cannot process your application due to missing or incorrect documents, you will receive an email giving the reasons for the rejected application and a link to resubmit your application. We will also contact you by phone if possible. If we don’t receive a response within five working days, the application will be rejected, and your payment will not be refunded. If you still need the permit, you will need to submit a new application and pay again.
