Notting Hill Carnival 2025

Advice for businesses

Deliveries

Given the road restrictions in the area, deliveries should be arranged to take place earlier in the week before Carnival, or, at the latest, on Saturday 23 August. No vehicle deliveries will be possible on Sunday 24 August or Monday 25 August.

For deliveries taking place on Tuesday 26 August, to avoid delays, we recommend to schedule them for late morning, where possible.

Waste collection for businesses

Your usual business waste collection will:

  • operate a normal service on Saturday 23 August
  • an early collection on Sunday 24 August up to 9am
  • no collection on Monday 25 August

If your waste is not collected by the council, ensure you make alternative arrangements with your waste contractor to fit with the access restrictions/road closures.

Carnival-related events on business premises

Check your premises licence to ensure that you are able to provide Carnival-related events during the bank holiday weekend.

If the activities you intend differ from your normal day-to-day operation, you may need to submit a Temporary Event Notice(TEN).

Chairs and tables on the footway or highway

To ensure the safety of visitors to the event, any business that has permission to place tables and chairs :

  • on a temporary footway extension
  • within suspended parking bays or
  • an equivalent area where there are other kerbside markings

needs to remove all furniture, platforms, barriers or decks no later than 5pm on Friday 22 August, before the start of Carnival. Any items found to be still on the footway or highway from Saturday 23 August will be removed by the council.

Sound systems

Sound systems are vital to Carnival, bringing an eclectic mix of music styles. Council officers are on hand to monitor noise levels throughout the weekend, and to make sure sound systems shut down at 7pm.

The most efficient way to log a noise complaint is by using the relevant council’s online form:
