About the service

NHS Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression is a free and confidential NHS service for people aged 16 and over who are registered with a GP in Kensington and Chelsea. Talking Therapies provide a range of support if you are:

  • Experiencing difficult emotions such as low mood, worry or stress
  • Feeling overwhelmed by anxiety
  • struggling with depression, or
  • having trouble sleeping because of intrusive thoughts

You can learn ways to improve your wellbeing and have the space to think about your difficulties and find ways to manage them better.

Talking Therapies can also help if you are living with a long-term physical health condition by finding ways to better manage the practical and emotional aspects.

How to access the service

Community Living Well provides face-to-face support for anyone aged 16 and above. They accept referrals from any health professional (including GP).

You can also refer yourself by completing an online referral form, or online referral with chat bot assistance on their website.

You can access the service by appointment only - they do not offer walk in appointments.

Al-Manaar Children and Young People's Therapy Service

About the service

Al-Manaar Children and Young People's Therapy Service offers free, in-person, faith-sensitive psychotherapy to Muslim heritage children and young people aged between 2 and 24. They also offer support to parents/carers concerned about the emotional wellbeing of their child. The service liaises with the professional network if requested by the family (school, GP, CAMHS, Children's Services).

The service has therapists of Muslim heritage, and supervised by an experienced, accredited Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, Dr Rachel Abedi. Additional services include:

  • Workshops for parents
  • training for professionals working with children and young people
  • collaboration with other community organisations and services

Al-Hasaniya Moroccan Women’s Centre seeks to serve the health, welfare, social, education and training needs of Moroccan and Arabic speaking women and their families, helping them to access mainstream services to improve their overall quality of life. Al-Hasaniya consists of an all female staff group and supports resident in Kensington and Chelsea and London-wide.

Kooth provides free, online, and anonymous support for young people. Kooth is a mental health and wellbeing toolkit with access to text-based counselling, self-help resources and community support and offer immediate and accessible support with no waiting lists, criteria, thresholds or referral forms.

Access Kooth on any internet enabled device, create an anonymous account. You can have immediate access to support.

Availability

Website is available 365 days a year, 24/7 with professional support available everyday Monday to Friday between noon (12pm) and 10pm. Saturday and Sunday between 6am and 10pm.

About the service

Living a healthy life isn’t always easy and that making any changes can feel challenging or daunting for us all.

The Change4Life service aims to ensure that children, young people and families across Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster are supported to be healthy and happy in the communities where they live, learn and play. The Change4Life service is here to support expectant parents, children and young people aged up to 19 (or 25yrs for young people with special educational needs or disabilities), and their families to eat well and keep active.

Pinnacle Gym

About the service

Pinnacle Gym is a hospital based gym that provides a supportive and non-competitive environment for you to exercise in. Whether you’re looking to get fit, improve your body tone, lose weight, or you have a medical condition that would benefit from exercise, Pinnacle Gym can cater for your needs. If you are new to gyms, they will help guide you and get you to the point where you are confident exercising independently. The gym is open to the public. There is no joining fee and new member discounts are available.

Pinnacle Gym memberships are open to staff (NHS and Imperial College), students (ID required), seniors (over 60) and the general public.

Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. The organisation supports children and young people (up to the age of 25) when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, as well as parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying. Child Bereavement UK provides training to professionals in health and social care, education, and the voluntary and corporate sectors, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.
