Your housing options

Out of London scheme

Facing homelessness and uncertainty about where you and your family will live can be very difficult and stressful. Being homeless, or at risk of homelessness, can make people feel like they don’t have control over important parts of their lives. The Out of London Scheme can support you in this period, ensuring you have as much information as possible so that you can make the right choices for you and your family.

The Out of London Scheme is a public sector partnership between London boroughs supporting families to relocate and settle in another area.

Who can apply

If you’re homeless and would like to find a suitable and affordable private rented accommodation, you can apply for support through the Out of London Scheme.

How it works

You'll need to ask your local authority to make a referral on your behalf. The Out of London project team will then contact you to discuss your options and find you properties.

This includes inspecting properties, attending property viewings with you, and providing resettlement support to help you move and keep your tenancy.
