Kensington Academy and Leisure Centre Planning Brief

In accordance with Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004, notice is given that the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea adopted its Kensington Academy and Leisure Centre Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).

The Kensington Academy and Leisure Centre Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) provides guidance on how any planning application should address the key issues in developing the site, such as the layout of the site and vehicular and pedestrian connections. It also examines ways of minimising the impact on existing residents.

The SPD supplements policies contained in the Development Plan, in particular Policies CP2, CP3, CP9, CP9, CA4 and CK1 as well as Vision CV9 of the Core Strategy 2010.

The SPD has been the subject of public consultation, which was conducted in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004 and the Council’s adopted Statement of Community Strategy. It was agreed by Key Decision on 9 May 2011, which was implemented on 16 May 2010. The SPD is now adopted as a material consideration in determining planning applications.
